Lateral Line Cleaning

A stronger option for commercial & industrial jobs

Strong Jetting for Larger Lateral Line Applications

Overview

Tough clogs in bigger commercial and industrial laterals need serious power to overcome.

The Challenge

Larger commercial and industrial lateral sewer lines, up to 10” in diameter, run higher waste volumes than residential lines and can experience major clogs. From restaurant & factory grease to invasive roots and industrial waste and debris, difficult materials are combined with bigger, harder to clear pipes. As in residential laterals, however, commercial and industrial lateral maintenance is still the responsibility of the property owner.

Electric drain augers and smaller cart and trailer hydro jetter options, commonly used for residential line clearance, often lack both the power and capacity to tackle tough challenges within drains in excess of 6” in diameter.

The Solution

Hi-Vac’s 3500 and 7000 Series jetter systems provide best in class jetting power, but retain the compact size, mobility, and flexibility that makes large trailer and small truck jetters so attractive. Pressurized water quickly breaks up and moves out grease, sludge, and debris. Even older clay service lines are safe from damage. Available cutters quickly slice through invasive roots that can obstruct flow and create difficult clogs.

With the economy of a towable trailer, preventative maintenance on big pipes becomes a cost-effective way to keep lines clear before problems occur, providing security to property owners and a recurring contractual revenue stream to plumbing contractors.

O’Brien’s rugged purpose-built construction and fully enclosed mechanical compartment is designed to provide both municipalities and contractors with years of reliable operation, regardless of use cycles and storage conditions.

The Results

  • Fast clog disruption: the power to quickly break through, cut, and push tough grease, roots, and debris out of the lateral into the main line.
  • Long Run Time: fresh water capacity for extended run time in the biggest or most obstructed pipes
  • No risk to pipe integrity: high-pressure water will not damage even older clay pipes (which could make a bad situation even worse)

Note

Jetting equipment must always be operated by a properly trained and competent worker, following all safe work practices and documented procedures for this type of equipment.
