Sewer Jetting

Big job power in a compact economical package

Power for Main Line Jobs

Overview

Clean out main service lines without the size and expense of a large truck

The Challenge

Standard municipal sewer lines, up to 18” in diameter, can collect major clogs. From restaurant & factory grease to invasive roots and general residential and commercial sludge and debris, difficult materials are combined with bigger diameter pipes than used for residential lines.

Electric drain augers and smaller cart and trailer hydro jetter options, commonly used for smaller lateral clearance, often run out of power and capacity once the job moves into the main line. While the largest sewer lines, above 18” diameter, and those with very heavy deposits, may require a large truck-based jet or jet/vac system, this solution is often uneconomical for preventative cleaning of smaller sewer and drain lines.

The Solution

Hi-Vac’s 3500 and 7000 Series jetter systems provide best in class jetting power, but retain the compact size, mobility, and flexibility that makes large trailer and small truck jetters so attractive. Tackle large and challenging jobs with up to 750 gallons of onboard fresh water, and high-pressure pumps that provide up to 4,000 PSI or 40 gallons per minute of cleaning power, quickly breaking up and moving out grease, sludge, and debris. Even older clay service lines are safe from damage. Available cutters quickly slice through invasive roots that can obstruct flow and create difficult clogs.

With the economy of a towable trailer, preventative maintenance on bigger pipes becomes a cost-effective way to keep lines clear before problems occur, preventing costly customer issues, and providing a recurring contractual revenue stream for plumbing contractors.

O’Brien’s rugged purpose-built construction and fully enclosed mechanical compartment is designed to provide both municipalities and contractors with years of reliable operation, regardless of storage conditions.

If very large water capacity or debris removal is also required, O’Brien’s Aquatech sister company offers large truck jetters and hydro jet/vac combination units.

The Results

  • Fast sediment & debris removal: clear obstructions and re-establish proper flow, without expensive and time-consuming manual labor
  • Long Run Time: fresh water capacity for extended run time in the biggest pipes
  • No risk to pipe integrity: high-pressure water will not damage even older clay pipes (which could make a bad situation even worse)

Note

Jetting equipment must always be operated by a properly trained and competent worker, following all safe work practices and documented procedures for this type of equipment.
